Girls' Night Out — Private Event

Everything you need to know before your event

ARRIVAL & PARKING

Q  Where is the studio?

We are at 252 Graham Street, Port Melbourne — on the corner of Graham Street and Stokes Street.

Q  Where do I park?

Parking on Graham Street is limited. There is plenty of free street parking directly opposite on Stokes Street, behind the studio on Turville Place, and throughout the surrounding streets. Always check signage for time limits.

Q  We're arriving by bus or limousine — where do we stop?

There is a loading zone at the building entrance. Please use it strictly as a drop-off point and follow the signage. Guests have previously received fines for parking outside permitted times.

Q  What time can we arrive?

Your host and one other person are welcome to arrive a little early to set up. Your full group should arrive at your session start time — please don't arrive too early as there may be an event finishing before yours.

YOUR STUDIO

Q  Is the studio private for our group?

Yes — you have exclusive use of your studio for the full duration. No other groups will be in your space.

Q  How long do we have?

2.5 hours of exclusive studio time including your painting session, setup, and pack down. Please ensure all guests leave by your end time as we have events following yours.

Q  Is the studio upstairs?

One of our three studios is upstairs with no wheelchair or mobility access. If anyone in your group has accessibility needs, please let us know when you book and we will place you in a ground floor studio.

Q  How many people can attend?

We have three studios accommodating groups from small gatherings up to 45 guests. Your studio has been allocated based on your group size.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Q  What's included in my booking?

Exclusive studio use, a professional art instructor to guide your group throughout, all art materials (paints, canvas, brushes), aprons to protect clothing, wine and champagne glasses, access to a catering table and fridge for your BYO, and photos from the session shared with you afterwards.

Q  Do we need any art experience?

None at all. Your instructor guides everyone step by step. Every guest ends up with something they're genuinely proud of.

Q  What themes are available for hens?

Paint Your Bestie / Paint the Bride (portrait painting — hilarious and personal), Puzzle Portrait (each guest paints a square canvas that joins into one large group artwork — a beautiful keepsake for the bride), Acrylic Paint and Sip, Palette Knife Painting, Watercolour with frame, and Play with Clay. Your proposal email has video links for every theme so your group can vote.

Q  Can we personalise the event for the bride?

Yes — you're welcome to bring small decorative items. No glitter, confetti, or table scatters please.

FOOD & DRINKS

Q  Can we bring our own drinks?

Yes — we are a BYO studio. You are welcome to bring wine, beer, cider, and pre-mixed RTD drinks. We have wine and champagne glasses, a fridge to keep things cold, and tea and coffee facilities.

Q  Are there any drink restrictions?

Yes. No bottles of spirits, shots, or hard liquor are permitted. Please keep it to wine, beer, cider, and pre-mixed RTDs. This applies to all events except the Shake, Sip & Paint class.

PLEASE NOTE

Shake, Sip & Paint: No BYO alcohol for this class. Each guest is served sparkling on arrival followed by two cocktails — all included in the price. BYO non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are welcome.

Q  Can we order drinks through you?

Yes — we have curated drinks packages you can pre-order, cold and ready in your studio fridge when you arrive. Ask your event coordinator for current options and pricing.

Q  Can we bring food?

Absolutely — BYO all food. A catering table, fridge, glasses, cheeseboard, and cheese knives are provided. Please bring your own ice, paper plates, napkins, and cutlery. Plastic containers are handy if you expect leftovers.

Q  Can you organise catering for us?

Yes — we work with Fox Events Co who can deliver grazing boards and platters to the studio. Contact them at foxeventsco.com.au (a $50 delivery fee applies).

Q  What do we do with rubbish and leftover food?

All catering, drinks, and rubbish must be packed up and removed by your end time. Our staff will show you where to dispose of rubbish. Please don't leave anything behind as we have events following yours.

MUSIC & PHOTOS

Q  What music plays during the session?

We have curated studio playlists to keep the creative energy going. If you'd prefer your own music, create a Spotify playlist and share it with your instructor at the start of the session. Song requests are also welcome when time permits.

Q  Will photos be taken?

Yes — your instructor will take photos throughout the session to share with you afterwards. If anyone does not wish to be photographed or included in our social media, please let your instructor know at the start.

ARTWORK

Q  Do guests take their artwork home?

Yes — everyone takes their finished painting home at the end of the session.

Q  What if the paint is still wet?

You're welcome to leave your artwork to dry and collect it later. Write your name, the date, and your phone number on the back of the canvas. We keep paintings for up to two weeks after your session.

ADD-ONS & EXTRAS

Q  Can we add a drag queen?

Absolutely — and highly recommended. A drag queen MC will entertain your group while everyone paints and sips. Glamorous, chaotic, and it always steals the show. Starting from $550 per group. Ask your event coordinator to add this to your booking.

Q  Can we extend the studio time?

Yes — from $80 per hour, subject to availability. Let your event coordinator know in advance.

Q  What about Shake, Sip & Paint or Peep and Sip?

Both are hugely popular for hens. Shake, Sip & Paint combines painting with making two cocktails (no BYO alcohol). Peep and Sip is life drawing with a male model — fun, funny, and a little bit spicy. Ask your coordinator if you'd like to switch to one of these.

GOOD TO KNOW

PLEASE NOTE

No table scatters, glitter, or confetti are permitted at the studio.

Q  What should guests wear?

Comfortable clothing you don't mind getting paint on. Aprons are provided. A touch of sparkle is always welcome at a hens party.

Q  What if our numbers change?

Final headcount is confirmed 3 days before the event. Your invoice will be updated before final payment is due.

Q  When is the final payment due?

The remaining 50% balance is due 3 days before your event. A payment link will be in your pre-event email.

Q  What if we need to reschedule?

Contact us as soon as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur a fee. Your deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to a new date where possible.

Q  Can you come to our venue?

Yes for most paint and sip themes. Please note Paint in the Dark cannot travel as it requires our UV studio setup. Get in touch to discuss what's possible.
